The start of the year means our Andes Mountains double-feature: La Estrella del Ostro from Colombia meets El Pato from Peru! This Red Brick’s dessert-like depth folds in sweet fruit flavours of stonefruit and pear.
Caravela’s La Estrella del Ostro blend profile is designed to encapsulate the profile of La Plata, Huila: stonefruits, green apple, and mild hoppy notes, all over a smooth caramel base. Though this particular lot was sourced from fifty three small-scale farmers around Colombia, 44% of the blend still comes from La Plata, anchoring the flavour profile. With our Red Brick espresso roast, these crisp notes transform into sweet: imagine the caramelised sweetness of baked plums.
El Pato from Tabaconas, Cajamarca returns to Red Brick. A credit to our export partner Origin Coffee Lab, this component features lots from twenty five producers stitched seamlessly into the best possible representation of the Tabaconas microregion. This year’s El Pato brings depth, dark chocolate notes, and exceptional balance, serving as the foundation of this Red Brick version as well as our Peru purchasing program.
